Mountain Bike Taster Day

Mountain Bike Taster Day

You've got a mountain bike, but you haven't really ridden it for it's real purpose.   Maybe you're looking to see what it's like and how much fun you can have on it? Well, so are we!

Come and join us as we take you through how to ride your bike safely, with some skill and technique being delivered, from using your gears to using your brakes and learning how to execute skills safely.  We'll decide on a great location to go riding - this may be down some mountain bike tracks, or it may be on some trails and you'll always be under the guidance of a qualified Instructor.  Initially, all days will be hosted at Paxton Lakes Sailing Club, but please note that the locations may change depending on who books on.

We'll start the day off with some bike checks, making sure they are all safe to go out with, before practicing some skills.  After we'll quickly plan and plot our route, so we know where we're going.  When we go on our ride, we'll use a mixture of paths and possibly a few roads to get onto other paths - however, the route which we will take is going to be created by you, so you'll get to make it more difficult or less difficult depending on how you're feeling!

Make sure you bring your water bottle as you'll definitely be needing this!

Please note, to participate within this day, you will need to have and provide a road-worthy mountain (MTB) bike, which is appropriate to your height.  The rider must also be able to ride their bike without the use of assistance from stabilisers or another person holding the bike.  You will need to ride with a backpack and also carry various items, which will include snacks and drinks, possibly waterproofs. Edusports does not currently own any bikes for lending out to participants.
